Almost at 10wk post relaxer

Hello ladies!

Sorry, its been almost 2 weeks since my last post. So much has been going on. I've been working, traveling, celebrating, struggling, had a stomach virus(my hair got no real love or attention this week, just buns and simple high ponys) and being a parent. I am truly a working mother with a very busy and tiring schedule! Life!!

Anyhoot! Lets see, I last left off talking about my split ends. I actually ending up cutting 1/4 to 1/2 inch off of my ends, but I still haven't got to clip them the way I want. I want to two-strand twist my hair then clip my ends and leave it in a protective style of some sort. Right now my hair is in a simple twist out/ bantu knot due. I co-washed my hair yesterday, moisturized, and oiled then just sectioned my hair in 4 and two strand twisted. I let it air dry for a while. Then I retwisted and bantu knot the 4 sections and left it. I took it down this morning, put a headband on and used two bobbi pins(these are a must) and kept it moving!

Im excited to say that tomorrow will be 10wks post relaxer. So far my journey has been a pleasant one. Although, there are times when I have no energy to do my hair or do my daily routines that I said I would do everyday and night. But I will put my satin bonnet on regardless of what my hair is looking like. I do like to moisturize daily some kind of way. But today is a new day and I've gotten my energy back and Im still hanging in there.

I've been seeing that a lot of transitioners and naturals use Shea Moisture products and I kind of want to try some of there products. I recently bought the Salon Graphics Cleansing Conditioner and Repair mask that is "Sulfate Free" My hair did not really respond or like this product the way I thought. BUt Im not going to waste it, so Im going to mix it with my Silk Elements Shampoo and conditioner that my hair LOVESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I co-wash with the conditioner twice a week and deep condition with a hot oil treatment once a week and my hair loves it!!! But I am anxious to try the Shea Moisture products!!

Again, when I can get my pics uploaded, I will!!!!

Til next time! REmember oil and hydrate that hair daily if its not in a protective style! :)

Splitting and breaking ends= no fun!

Of my few reasons to go natural, one was to manage my splitting and breaking ends. This is my main struggle. My hair still seems to grow despite of my breakage, but I wanted to achieve long healthy hair past my shoulders! But that hasnt seemed to happen. Although since I started stretching my perms and caring for my hair since last Oct, my hair has shown great improvement. But I was still relying on chemicals. And as you know, I had enough!! Im ready to transition, but the more I research, my split ends make me fringe. I examined them yesterday at work and was very disgusted. But as I researched, I just need to treat them and get my trims more as my natural hair grows in. But ladies, learn about the diff. kinds of split, splitting, and breaking ends and take immediate action!!! I trimmed my relaxed hair briefly last week, but I am going to dust my hair this week and continue my journey!!! Oh..I am so fixed on Carol's Daughter's products, but I think I should stick to the products I have and stick to my routine I have planned out! My hair seems to be liking it so far! But i need to cut more of these split ends away!! :)

long term hair transition begins!!

SO....I am new to this, but I love to write to express myself. It frees and relaxes me. Once I get my thoughts out, I feel renewed. LOL! I will shorten words and I will blog the way I feel. So if I mispell something, I am aware and its just me typing! (I am not perfect and I am a bit lazy when it comes to spell check or re-reading my stuff before I hit PUBLISH! So bear with me & enjoy!

Anyways, I have decided to transition natural!! :) I am excited and nervous at the same time! My last perm was on May 18 (My 24th bday-Im getting old) and almost 2 month later, I have begun my transition!! Last October(2011) I decided to stretch my perms out and relax my hair every 3 months! (I was able to stick to that plan, but now it's July and I currently say, "bye bye perms!" *Chunks dueces!!* I have been a website junky, reading tips, styles, testimonies, products, etc everyday! Its a bit overwhelming, but I think I have all the products I need!! Ill be back to finish this blog. But I started this blog as a way to help me keep up and hold myself accountable to stick to this transition plan. I want to transition simply because I am scared of the BC (big chop) and Im determined to keep my length. I am striving for long curly HEALTHY hair!! (no more chemical that do more harm than hurt to MY hair in the long run---I have bad breakage and shedding and my hair has thinned out over the years!! Soo please feel free to follow me and help me on my journey!! (pics to come!)
